I am a strong fan of KAMALA DAS, a famous writer and a renowned poet of India. I like her writing because I think more than a “writer” who is a woman, she is a honest woman who can write. Kamala das is a brave writer, with a pure language. Her writing has been a point of reference for everybody. Kamala das’s poems are taught in universities on India and many western countries.Although one might feel that Kamala das is a feminist, she w as not involved in any kind of feminist activities, or labelled herself as a feminist. Kamala das wrote about topics which the other writers or the society scared to touch.Kamala das says, A restrained love seems to be no love at all; only a total immersion in love can do justice to this experience. About women, she urges them to give the man what makes them women. Kamala das had clear views and opinions about love, women hood and sexuality. As a writer she found huge potential in human sensuality.
